Our structures are used for various applications such as breakrooms, warehouses, and fabrication facilities across industries such as construction, industrial, sports, military, and disaster relief. As a Project Engineer at United Rentals, you will have the chance to directly engage with clients and oversee projects nationwide. We are seeking someone who presents themselves well, possesses keen attention to detail, and finds fulfillment in achieving success for themselves and others. What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints. Develop detailed project scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation and create project plans in AutoCAD
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including CAD drawings, specifications, change orders, and progress reports. Keep project stakeholders informed of key milestones, risks, and challenges
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and logistics, to ensure seamless project execution. Coordinate with subcontractors and external vendors to manage project deliverables and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Obtain the necessary permits and approvals for projects. Prepare and submit applications, coordinate with authorities, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure that projects meet the highest standards. Perform inspection and address any non-conformities to ensure adherence to design and safety requirements
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on construction sites. Conduct regular safety audits, ensure compliance with safety regulations including OSHA, and address any safety concerns promptly

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in architectural, civil engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Strong proficiency in CAD, 3D Modeling, and other relevant design software
  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Civil Engineer, or related field
  • Experience with permitting, building codes, and zoning regulations (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or architectural licenses (preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred; training provided)
  • Valid driver's licenses with clean driving record
  • Project engineering: 4 years (Preferred)

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
