Your Opportunity
Our Boise, Idaho office is seeking a Process Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our multi-disciplinary team of water professionals. As such, tasks may include performing engineering calculations, preparing detailed design drawings and specifications, preparing planning and technical engineering reports, and designing pipelines, pump stations, and treatment processes. All tasks will be performed under the supervision of a professional engineer. Other responsibilities include:
  • Perform site visits, condition assessments, and observe startup operations, as necessary.
  • Continually acquire new knowledge of and experience with a variety of innovative technologies, treatment approaches, and design tools.
  • Develop ability to identify resources required to complete projects or assignments.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and adapt to project changes.
  • Develop your professional network within the water industry through interactions with clients, regulatory agencies, other consulting firms, and industry organizations.

As you gain experience, you will have the opportunity to contribute to more complex assignments and responsibilities, which may include guiding less experienced staff and interns. This progressive involvement will help you build a strong foundation in process engineering and prepare you for future leadership roles within our team.
Typical office environment will be working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple project assignments, prioritize, and take direction.
  • Ability to prepare complete, concise, and organized engineering studies, designs, and specifications.
  • Willingness and ability to perform field work, as needed, within the Boise area and Pacific Northwest.

Education and Experience
  • BS degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering, or related field, required.
  • MS degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field, preferred.
