Cylindrical Grinder Operator (ID/OD Grinder) - 2nd Shift
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Pay Range: $26-$31 per hour - +$3/hour 2nd Shift Differntial
Work Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday - 230p - 11p with OT and Saturdays

What You'll Do:
As a Cylindrical Grinder Operator, you’ll set up and operate internal and external grinding machines, interpret blueprints and sketches, and ensure parts are ground to exact dimensions and tolerances. Your keen eye for detail will be essential as you inspect parts throughout the process, make precise adjustments, and maintain a safe, clean workspace. You’ll also assist in machine maintenance, record-keeping, and potentially help train other team members to uphold our standards of quality and safety.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating cylindrical grinders
  • Knowledge of CNC or NC programming
  • Expertise in OD/ID grinding procedures
  • Hands-on experience with grinding wheel maintenance
  • Familiarity with dimensional inspection, GD&T, and precision measurement tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and basic math skills
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, travelers, and routings
  • Basic computer skills for data input and programming edits

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with ISO standards and documentation
  • Proficiency in interpreting and editing machine programming
  • Knowledge of jig, fixture, tool, and die production
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with complex tolerances

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of hands-on machining or grinding experience in a production setting

Other Requirements:

  • This role requires daily on-site presence at our Naperville facility
  • Candidates must be U.S. persons under ITAR/EAR regulations (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, etc.)
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production goals
