Job Description

The Digital Content Intern will gain hands-on experience performing a variety of roles within a fast paced, behind-the-scenes environment, with the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer in Kansas City. Sporting Kansas City's collaborative environment full of learning opportunities is designed to help all interns evolve their capabilities, challenge their strengths, and reach their fullest potential.

This internship takes place from August 25th - December 11th.

Sporting Kansas City internships allow students or recent graduates to hold a temporary position within the organization, with emphasis on training and gathering practical experience in their field of specialization by doing a variety of tasks as assigned by their Team Lead. The Digital Content Intern for SKC assists the Digital Marketing team for Sporting Kansas City and all other Sporting Club entities by developing and executing creative concepts, ensuring the organization is consistent and communicating a cohesive message through all channels of organizational and public-facing entities.

All SKC interns must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree or must have recently achieved their bachelor's degree.

Essential Functions

  • Research and present new social trends, pop culture references and opportunities to create buzzworthy content on social media

  • Assist SKC Social team with content tagging and analytics reporting

  • Assist SKC Digital team with various email, web, and app tasks

  • Produce original social content for social channels like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Youtube, X and more

  • Assist with event and match coverage for Sporting KC and affiliates social media channels

  • Assist SKC Social team with community engagement

  • Maintain the Sporting Kansas City brand by studying the target markets and competitors

  • Assist with brainstorming for partnership integration on social

  • Continue to grow and expand the brand, maintaining quality and consistency amongst all entities and partners

  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

Match Day Responsibilities

  • Act as representatives of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and working to create Magic Moments for all fans.

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
