This position has a base salary of $44,000/yr and a monthly production based bonus (typical bonus can average between $600-$1500 per month based on individual productivity, quality metrics, and service level expectation. Bonus eligibility and payout are evaluated monthly and subject to the terms, conditions, and eligibility requirements in effect at the time of payment.)
SUMMARY:
We are seeking an individual with an outstanding work ethic and a history of success in the Appraisal field to join our team as a full-time Review Appraiser. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, integrity, honesty, professionalism, and will maintain ownership of their work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review and analyze appraisal reports for accuracy and adherence to industry guidelines and applicable government regulation.
  • Advise appraisers to clarify or correct information in appraisal reports.
  • Ensures borrower/lender requests for a Reconsideration of Value (ROV) comply with FHFA ROV Guidelines and Appraiser Independence Requirements prior to their being sent to the appraiser. Verifies the appraiser's response to an ROV requests is sufficient and compliant prior to forwarding the response to the lender/borrower.
  • Provide feedback to appraisers on their performance and areas of improvement when appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of current real estate market trends.
  • Prepares and presents reports on appraisal quality and findings.
  • Participates in training new Staff Appraisers and/or Review Appraisers.
  • Work with legal descriptions and associated MLS data regarding multiple real estate properties.
  • Proactive and effective communication with Appraisal Desk staff to minimize delays or problems in the review process.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing clear and comprehensive information.
  • Collaborate with team members to continuously improve processes and deliverables.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Current Residential Appraiser license required
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of residential appraisal or appraisal review experience
  • Ability to work well independently; self-motivated
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of appraisal concepts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, internet search skills, and the ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to grasp new technology and computer applications quickly
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable working at a fast pace
  • Ability to work overtime (OT) when needed
  • Appraisal review experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate
  • National review experience a plus
  • Banking or lending background is a plus
  • Secondary market or portfolio evaluation experience a plus
