Description of Work
Part-time, on-call data collectors needed to help fulfill many research functions in the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
Responsibilities Include:
Field-based data collection and professional representation
- Travel to schools across Lincoln and rural areas of Nebraska,.
- Serve as the face of the research team in the field, coordinating schedules, conducting assessments, and upholding confidentiality and professional standards
Administering assessments and maintaining reliability
- Conduct questionnaires with parents and administer standardized assessments to young children (ages 3-6)
- Complete training to achieve and maintain reliability on all assessment measures
Supporting logistics and data management
- Assist with scheduling assessments, scoring, checking data, and coordinating with other data collectors
- Contribute to data management tasks and ensure accurate documentation

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree with some coursework in psychology, education, child development or related field and at least six months experience working with young children (ages 3-6 years); Additional relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and video-recording equipment.
- Flexible availability during weekdays (7am-8pm) and/or weekends. Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours up to 40 hours during these times.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Dependable transportation.
- Familiarity with basic technology (e.g., iPad, video-recording equipment).
- Valid driver's license and approved to drive on University business.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, education, child development or related field.
- One year of research experience, including assessment administration, classroom observations, scoring, or data entry.
- Preschool classroom experience.
- Knowledge of development in young children and child assessments.
- Knowledge of working with families.
