Job Summary

The Network Engineer provides enterprise level support, design, maintenance, and strategic management for the organization's network and collaboration infrastructure. This role works with Infrastructure Architects for ensuring maximum availability, security, and performance of the network environment across all facilities. The Network Engineer will help establish network standards, lead deployment projects, manage core network services, and serve as a Tier 3 escalation point, working closely with the IT Help Desk to resolve complex technical issues efficiently. Candidates must be within a reliable commuting distance of Norman, OK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support enterprise Cisco network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
  • Administer, optimize, and troubleshoot the Cisco Call Manager (CUCM) and associated VoIP/collaboration environments to ensure high-quality, reliable communications.
  • Manage and maintain foundational network architecture and services, specifically DNS, DHCP, IPAM (IP Address Management), and VLAN configurations.
  • Utilize network diagnostic tools to analyze, isolate, and resolve complex network performance issues. Act as the primary escalation source for the IT Help Desk to provide timely resolution to critical system and client problems.
  • Develop, review, and maintain comprehensive network topology maps, standardized operating procedures, and training documentation for IT support staff.
  • Review and identify strategic opportunities to apply new and existing network technologies to support organizational goals. Contribute to the IT project management lifecycle by accurately tracking and reporting project progress and resource utilization.
  • Maintain maximum uptime for the enterprise network and assigned network systems, adhering to strict change management controls and safety/security protocols.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional network support and engineering experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise-level network design, deployment, and support, with a primary focus on Cisco-based networks.
  • Demonstrated hands on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Cisco Call Manager (CUCM).
  • Strong proficiency with core network protocols and diagnostic utilities (DNS, DHCP, packet sniffers/analyzers, and Microsoft Server environments).
  • Proven experience participating in or leading collaborative IT project teams.

Licensure/Certification

  • Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, or CCNP Collaboration) or equivalent professional industry credentials preferred.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $33.87-55.31/hr. depending on previous work experience
