The Opportunity
Glass Roots Construction (GRC) is seeking a high-performing Project Manager to lead our underground utility projects from inception to completion. As GRC continues to scale, this role serves as a pivotal bridge between our strategic goals and field execution. You won't just be managing tasks; you will be the primary driver of project profitability, client relationships, and operational excellence.
This is a leadership position designed for a proactive problem-solver who can navigate the complexities of civil construction while mentoring our field teams and ensuring GRC remains the gold standard for safety and efficiency in the Reno area.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager is responsible for understanding the project deliverables and creating timelines for different individuals and groups involved in the project to make sure the project remains on track. You must be familiar with the goals of the project and the responsibilities of all involved parties.
โ€ข Daily management of construction vendors to expedite the construction and splicing of fiber networks.
โ€ข Oversees timely permitting submittal and on time performance of engineering and construction vendors.
โ€ข Provides direct interface with customers, subcontractors, jurisdictional authorities and interoffice personnel.
โ€ข Managing both internal and external risks within the project's lifetime, such as poor planning designs, and government policies, which directly or indirectly affect the project
โ€ข Procuring and allocating resources to ensure there is no shortage while avoiding any unnecessary delays caused by management decisions
โ€ข Support in the development of RFI/RFPs for the engineering and construction of new projects.
โ€ข Creates and tracks project budgets in relationship to Network Operations.
โ€ข Develop and update processes and procedures to streamline workflows.
โ€ข Ensure that all work is maintained in a tracking system with complete accuracy.
โ€ข Required occasionally to meet with various municipalities and vendors to review project scope and to ensure positive communication is maintained.
Required Qualifications
โ€ข Must have (4) years of familiarity with all types of outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects.
โ€ข Must have (2) years of all Telecom construction and design aspects, especially for FTTx.
โ€ข Must be able to manage multiple aggressive RFP and design construction schedules and responses.
โ€ข Must be able to understand and read construction documents.
โ€ข Must be comfortable delivering reports directly to the CEO.
โ€ข Ability to lead a team by being a good and effective communicator
โ€ข Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring daily job allocation
โ€ข Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
โ€ข Excellence in the budgeting of financial resources
โ€ข Proficient with Email, MS Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), G Suite (Sheets, Slides, etc.) and Google Earth.
โ€ข 25 % Travel is Required
Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข Strong data entry skills
โ€ข Strong background in field management
โ€ข Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
โ€ข Process and documentation orientation, with a focus on continuous improvement
โ€ข Strong written and verbal communications skills
โ€ข Experience with Google Suite (Sheets, etc.), Zoho, and project management tools a plus
โ€ข Understanding of utility construction processes and terminology a plus
Additional Information
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 Salary, based on experience + 15% Bonus
Schedule: Day Shift:Monday - Friday & Night Shift: Sunday - Thursday
Travel Requirements: 25%
