Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on coffee roasting equipment, baggers, packaging machinery, and production lines. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on coffee roasting equipment, baggers, and packaging machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues.
- Document all maintenance activity within CMMS, including issues, resolutions, parts, and labor.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with roasters, bagging equipment, and conveyance and production line equipment.
- Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of roasting and packaging systems.
- Perform daily work order management and updates in CMMS.
- Manage parts inventory and coordinate sourcing of needed materials.
- Maintain tool control and equipment records.
- Support and train operators on basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Partner with OEM vendors and service providers on complex equipment issues.
- Conduct facility and equipment audits to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
- Follow all OSHA, GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with production and facility safety procedures.
- Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor.
- Promote a safety-first culture within roasting and packaging operations.
Essential Skills- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in fast-paced production environments.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
- Strong communication skills when working with production teams and vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and sense of ownership.
- 2+ years in coffee manufacturing or 5 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing maintenance or related roles.
- Experience with CMMS Systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, as well as PLCs/control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 2+ years in coffee manufacturing or 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience within food manufacturing or production environments.
- Direct experience with roasting equipment, packaging/bagging systems, and production lines or conveyor systems.
- Strong experience with CMMS systems and maintenance tracking.
Work EnvironmentThe position is based in our client's plant in Oakland, with a work schedule from Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
