Essential Functions

  • Fosters an environment conducive to learning.

  • Utilizes learning principles and allows learner to pursue subject matter at own pace. Allows for active participation.

  • Responds to inquiries regarding client's educational opportunities.

  • Receives no complaints regarding timeliness of responses as reported on the class evaluation and observations by Women's Center Manager.

  • Follows organizational policy and procedure and department protocols and serves as a resource for others.

  • Recognizes deviation from organizational policy and procedure and departmental protocols and acts appropriately.

  • Explains policy and procedure and departmental protocols and directs others to indicated resource materials.

  • Identifies and recommends learning experiences for students.

  • Participates in special projects or performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
Frequent movement throughout the hospital campus and to off campus activities. Frequent periods of standing, sitting, walking and stooping. Lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 50 lbs. of weight. Environment is climate controlled.


Education, Experience and Certifications

Registered Nurse unrestricted licensure by the appropriate State Board, or, Nurse Aide with two years experience preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required. Certification as childbirth educator required. Teaching experience preferred. Must have organizational ability and a working knowledge of principles of adult education and learning theory.
