Job description

Heartland Credit Union is seeking a strategic and transformational Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help lead the organization's growth, innovation, and operational excellence initiatives. As a key member of the Executive Leadership team, the COO will partner with the CEO to execute the Credit Union's strategic plan, drive digital transformation, enhance member experience, optimize operations, and support market expansion opportunities. This leader will oversee enterprise-wide initiatives involving technology, AI, project management, process improvement, change management and organizational growth while continuing to enhance a high-performance, member-focused culture.

Ideal candidates will possess 10+ years of executive leadership experience in credit unions, financial services, banking, fintech, or related industries. Candidates should have a proven track record in digital transformation, operational excellence, systems integration, strategic planning, and leading large-scale organizational change. A bachelor's degree is required, with an MBA or other advanced degree preferred. Lean certification is required, while Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and PMP certifications are strongly preferred.
