A primary responsibility of this role is to teach U employee health and wellness classes through PEAK Health and Fitness. Additionally, the Associate Instructor will have opportunities to contribute to other wellness initiatives.
Responsibilities Essential Functions:
- Teach group fitness classes.
- Conduct health and fitness assessments.
- Provide personal training services.
- Offer individual wellness consultations.
- Support wellness events, including movement breaks and health fairs.
This role requires strong relationship-building and communication skills, along with a demonstrated understanding of health and wellness principles. Applicants must show the ability to perform essential job functions as outlined.
CPR certification is required.
Minimum Qualifications - Requires a bachelor's degree in a health-related field. Demonstrated relationship-building and effective communication skills also required.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of health and wellness.
- Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
- Specific health and fitness certification required, i.e. ACSM, NSCA, YTT
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalency.
- One to three years' experience in fitness class instruction.
- Experience working with a wide variety of individuals, including those with chronic disease or orthopedic complications.
