Work Schedule: Part Time: 20-30/hrs+ per week

Pay Rate: $44.62/hr
Role Overview
Entry-level professional engineering role supporting civil and water resources projects. Works under direct supervision to perform engineering assignments across planning, design, construction, and operations of water systems and infrastructure. Responsibilities include conducting studies, preparing reports, and assisting with project execution while developing independent engineering judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engineering studies, investigations, and analyses (hydrology, water quality, environmental, hydraulic, etc.)
- Assist across all phases of projects: planning, design, construction, and close-out.
- Prepare engineering documents such as:
- Reports, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Review submissions from contractors, consultants, and developers for compliance.
- Support construction activities (inspections, review RFIs, change orders).
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders/agencies.
- Support regulatory permitting and environmental compliance processes.
- Maintain databases, perform data analysis, and support QA/QC activities.
- Participate in procurement, contract support, and vendor coordination.
Additional duties from business request document:
- Support key water projects (e.g., feasibility studies, recycled water programs, research initiatives)
- Assist with technical studies (e.g., pipe loop, water reuse, potable reuse research)
- Coordinate inter-agency collaboration and reporting activities
- Support CEQA permitting and compliance activities.
Required Experience
Required:
- No prior professional engineering experience required (entry-level role).
- Exposure through academic projects, internships, or paraprofessional work is beneficial
- Experience working with engineering data, studies, or reports is advantageous (implied from duties)
Preferred:
- Experience or familiarity with:
- Water/wastewater treatment processes
- Water quality analysis and environmental compliance
- Engineering feasibility studies and report writing
- Regulatory permitting and CEQA-related processes.
- Internship or temporary engineering experience in utilities, water resources, or civil projects

- Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (especially Sheets/Excel for tracking & analysis)
- Basic data analysis and reporting skills
- Content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Suite – preferred)
