Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Attorney specializing in Municipal Law to join our top-tier legal team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our firm, providing high-quality legal representation to our diverse client base, which includes cities, counties, and other public entities. This exciting position offers the opportunity to work on a wide array of legal matters including litigation, municipal law, municipal litigation, CEQA, Brown Act, code enforcement, land use, and civil litigation.
Responsibilities:
As an Associate Attorney, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
1. Providing legal counsel and advice to clients on matters related to municipal law, public entity defense work, including but not limited to land use, code enforcement, and the Brown Act.
2. Representing clients in municipal litigation matters before courts, administrative agencies, and other tribunals.
3. Assisting in the drafting and review of ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds, leases, and other legal documents.
4. Conducting legal research and preparing legal memoranda, opinions, and briefs on a wide range of municipal law issues.
5. Advising clients on compliance with CEQA and other environmental laws and regulations.
6. Participating in client meetings, public hearings, and other client-related events as required.
7. Maintaining current knowledge of changes in legislation and case law relevant to municipal law.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 1 plus years of experience in municipal law, with a strong emphasis on litigation, municipal litigation, CEQA, Brown Act, code enforcement, land use, and civil litigation.
4. Proven track record of representing public entities in complex legal matters.
5. Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
8. High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical judgment.
