DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: $29.00 an hour

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, responsible for the day to day maintenance and physical well-being of the Ontario Convention Center including all functions related to utilities, HVAC, landscaping, and repair.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager assigns duties and supervises technicians and laborers in daily maintenance as well as special requirements for events.
Assists the Maintenance Manager with training and evaluation of Maintenance staff.
Establishes and maintains tool and repair parts inventory.
Assists Maintenance Manager with needs and plans for preventative maintenance and upgrades for systems.
Maintains close, open and productive communication channels with all personnel to ensure successful operations and customer satisfaction.
Performs maintenance and alterations of Ontario Convention Center facilities including, but not limited to, HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, and audio/video systems.
Reviews Arrangement Memos and installs customer ordered electrical, water, and air to booths prior to events as directed by the Maintenance Manager. Monitors all of the above for proper operation during events.
Installs "flying" items such as, audio equipment, banners, and temporary cabling and ensures they are installed safely and solidly, refers same to Assistant General Manager for final inspection.
Attends staff training and safety meetings.
Operates equipment including, forklifts, power sweepers, power scrubbers, boom lifts, electric carts, and miscellaneous hand and power tools. Trains others in the operation of equipment.
Recommends requisition of supplies and materials to Maintenance Manager.
Maintains daily work records.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience/Training/Education:
Required: Three or more years' experience as a Maintenance Mechanic with a multi-use facility or construction company, or at least one year at supervisory level. Significant exposure in the areas of HVAC, facility and equipment maintenance.


Desirable: Any certification in the areas of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Cal OSHA 10 etc.
License/Certificate:
Valid California Driver's License
Forklift certified


Knowledge of:
Life/safety and fire control systems, Building automation systems, i.e., Johnson Metasys Software, Lithonia Lighting Software, etc. Safe working practices

Ability to:
Manage many projects simultaneously
Maintain knowledge of leading technical advancements and their application to the Ontario Convention Center
Relate technical information to non-technical individuals
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, peers and the public
Skill to:
Operate modern office equipment including computer, fax, phone, and copy machine
Operate a motor vehicle
Operate equipment, such as forklift, boom lift, electric carts, radio devices, etc.


Physical and Environmental Requirements:
This position requires standing, walking, bending and lifting 25lbs. throughout the day as well as working at the computer; irregular hours will be required. May be required to work with hazardous chemicals/substances. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events.
This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.

This position requires stooping and lifting. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Must be able to pass background.
