Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team and support the financial operations of our facility. The Bookkeeper/Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and providing timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing accounting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Process vendor invoices, customer payments, and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare and process payroll or coordinate with the payroll provider.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial statements and management reports.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and assist with inventory reconciliations.
  • Track manufacturing costs and support cost accounting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Support external accountants during audits and tax preparation.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; manufacturing or food industry experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of inventory accounting and cost accounting principles is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
