Job Summary:
The Radiology Clerk supports the goals of the Radiology Department while assisting departments throughout the hospital and clinic. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include maintaining images and patient accounts in PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System); assembling and analyzing inpatient and outpatient medical records; releasing medical information and films in accordance with state and federal regulations; supporting medical staff with medical record completion; responding to visitor requests for information or films; and accurately filing medical records.

o Clinical Personnel: Strictly adheres to standard precautions by adhering to the usage of personal protective equipment when handling blood or body fluids.

o Adheres to isolation procedures at all times as applicable.
• Adheres to the following environmental care standards.
o Demonstrates adequate knowledge of safety policies and procedures, the use of MSDS sheets, hazardous material procedures, and safety codes.
o Respond appropriately to any Codes while working any shift (Code Blue, Code Gray, Code Silver, Code Amber, Code Red, Code Orange, and Rapid Response Team).
o Demonstrates adequate knowledge of security issues, i.e. personal protection, protection of personal and hospital property.
• Participates in quality initiatives as needed.
• Be familiar with and comply with the Mid-Valley Hospital & Clinic Personnel Handbook and Policies.
• Be familiar with the collective bargaining agreement (Union Contract) of the UFCW3000 and Mid-Valley Hospital.
Essential Job Functions
1. May assist with scheduling imaging exams which include: CT, US, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, and general radiology procedures.
2. Understands required patient preps for all radiology exams that are scheduled.
3. Explains radiology exams to patients and answers questions they may have.
4. Arranges for patients to pick up needed supplies, such as BE prep kits or CT oral contrast
5. Maintains patient confidentiality while interacting with public, physicians, and co-workers.
6. Makes CD'S and telerading images to appropriate outside facility.
7. Responsible for reception duties; answering phone, taking messages, paging overhead, and transferring calls as needed.
8. Responsible for film control duties; requesting/pushing images, merging images
9. Keeps office stocked with clerical supplies and radiology forms.
10. Continuance of care information release/film transfer
11. Release Legal, personal information/film requests
12. Track and manually send reports that were not automatically sent to the ordering provider
13. Merge Patient accounts in Pacs to match account in Cerner
14. Oversee the Lung cancer screening program.
15. Track mammography follow up exam recommendations based off of the Radiologists report and request appropriate orders from primary care providers to send to scheduling.
16. Make sure Mammography chart notes and prior reports are printed daily for the radiologist and summarized in the exam notes for the technologist.
17. Make sure prior images are requested and received for all diagnostic mammography exam orders prior to sending to scheduling.
18. Request all prior imaging for screening mammograms
19. Transfer mammography images to the Radiologist viewer and mammography tech workstation prior to the next days scheduled appointments.
20. Track and log exam report errors, follow up with Radia or onsite radiologist to make sure these are corrected so we can correctly bill the profee. Make corrections in patients' chart to reflect these changes.

Per Diem
WAGE AND COMPENSATION
Wage range $ 18.65 hr. - $ 27.71 hr. - DOE
Plus, the Per Diem rate of an additional 10%
