What is temporary artificial intelligence testing?

A Temporary Artificial Intelligence Testing job involves evaluating and verifying the performance, accuracy, and reliability of AI systems or software for a fixed period, often as part of a project or during peak development cycles. Testers in this role identify bugs, suggest improvements, and ensure that the AI behaves as expected under different scenarios. These positions are usually contract-based or short-term, making them ideal for people looking to gain experience in the AI field or contribute to specific projects. Responsibilities may include writing test cases, analyzing test results, and collaborating with developers and data scientists to enhance system performance.

What does temporary artificial intelligence testing involve?

As a Temporary Artificial Intelligence Testing professional, you'll typically be assigned to evaluate AI models or software for accuracy, fairness, and reliability. Your tasks may include creating and executing test cases, reporting bugs, and providing feedback on AI system outputs. You'll often collaborate with data scientists, developers, and QA teams to ensure the AI solutions meet performance standards. The work is dynamic and can involve adapting quickly to new testing protocols or shifting project priorities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed for temporary artificial intelligence testing?

To thrive as a Temporary Artificial Intelligence Tester, you need a solid understanding of software testing principles, basic programming or scripting skills, and familiarity with AI concepts, supported by relevant education or experience. The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Artificial Intelligence Governance Architect to join the team in Seattle, WA; Mesa, AZ; Seal Beach, CA; Arlington, VA; Miami, FL; or North Charleston, SC.

We are seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance Architect with a systems engineering or operational background to help architect and operate our Enterprise AI Governance program. This role is particularly well suited for someone who has built complex programs from the ground up and someone who understands how to define requirements, establish processes, coordinate across large organizations, and create repeatable, scalable frameworks.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and operationalization of artificial intelligence (AI) governance program infrastructure including intake processes, use case review workflows, risk tiering criteria, escalation paths, and approval frameworks

  • Develop and release enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) policies, standards, and guidelines for responsible artificial intelligence (AI) use across all business units, ensuring they are practical, enforceable, and grounded in technical reality

  • Conduct and coordinate artificial intelligence (AI) risk assessments across use cases and technologies, identifying risks, defining mitigation strategies, and tracking compliance actions through closure

  • Evaluate artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and vendor-supplied models, including generative artificial intelligence (AI) systems, for alignment with responsible artificial intelligence (AI) standards, identifying vulnerabilities and failure modes

  • Monitor applicable legislation and regulatory guidance, including National Institute of Standards and Technology Artificial Intelligence Risk Management Framework (NIST AI RMF), Department of Defense Artificial Intelligence Ethics Principles (DoD AI Ethics Principles), European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act), and United States (U.S.) federal artificial intelligence policy, and develop organizational readiness assessments for new requirements

  • Define documentation standards for artificial intelligence (AI) systems such as model cards, impact assessments, validation records, human oversight requirements, and ensure audit-readiness across the artificial intelligence (AI) portfolio

  • Build and deliver artificial intelligence (AI) governance training and awareness materials for technical and non-technical stakeholders across the enterprise

  • Collaborate with engineering, legal, compliance, cybersecurity, and business partners to integrate governance requirements into artificial intelligence (AI) program delivery processes

  • Contribute to the development of enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) governance metrics, key performance indicators (KPI), and executive reporting on program maturity and risk posture

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems integration, and/or software engineering

  • 5+ years of experience with program management, project management and/or business operations

  • 3+ years of experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance

  • 5+ years of experience in performing risk assessments and risk management

  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

  • 3+ years of experience in design, requirements derivation and/or system architecture development and processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience

  • Current INCOSE systems engineering certification or equivalent professional credential

  • Experience with technical concepts related to AI/ML systems without necessarily being a model developer

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or national security environments with familiarity with DoD acquisition, program oversight, or compliance processes

  • Experience with AI technologies: machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and agentic systems at a conceptual and applied level

  • Experience with NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, DoD AI Ethics Principles, EU AI Act, or equivalent governance frameworks

  • Experience using GRC platforms (ServiceNow, Archer, OneTrust, Credo AI or similar) to manage risk and compliance workflows

  • Experience with AI technology and a track record of staying current on emerging capabilities and their implications for complex organizations
