Summary
Purchasing Assistant works within the Purchasing department to provide support for the production and facilities team by processing purchasing documents and responding to related inquiries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Place and track orders
Review work orders for accuracy
Assist with inventory management/cycle counts/physical inventory.
Identify and research customer specific requirements.
Identify and implement cost saving opportunities.
Supplier development and improvement
Work with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices.
Maintain knowledge of market/industry trends.
Work safely at all times.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Skills and Qualifications
1-3 years previous experience in Sales/Administrative position
Proficiency in Excel is required
Minimum Associate Degree preferred
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Customer service skills are a must.
