Housekeeping Assistant - Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel
Position Summary:
The Housekeeping Assistant position is cross-trained in all areas in order to provide guests with quality service in a timely and friendly manner for Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel. Although the Soaring Eagle Water Park & Hotel is an enterprise of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan, it operates under the Migizi Economic Development Company Policies and Procedures.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Laundry
  • Fills washer with dirty linen.
  • Empties dryer when linen is dry.
  • Runs towels through the towel folder.
  • Sprays stains that are on the linens and other items that may need it.
  • Switches out dirty bins for clean bins.
  • Available 11am to 5pm or 5pm to 11pm.

Lobby
  • Ensures lobby, hallways, and stairwells are vacuumed.
  • Collects all luggage carts from hotel hallways and returns to proper place.
  • Cleans elevators using stainless steel cleaner on the walls.
  • Sweeps and mops the floors.
  • Vacuums and wipes down the Teen Room.
  • Available 10am to 4pm or 4pm to 10pm.

Packer
  • Stock carts.
  • Available 5pm to 9pm.

Runner
  • Collects the buggy that will be used to collect dirty laundry.
  • Picks up dirty laundry from assigned guestroom attendants.
  • Brings the buggy down to laundry and sorts into proper bins.
  • Collects trash and empties pop cans. Takes trash to trash compactor and empties cans onto loading dock.
  • Available 10:30am to 5:30pm.

Waterpark
  • Collects all cleaning items needed for cleaning tables and chairs.
  • Maintains all the floors ensuring all paper, food, towels, etc. are picked up and swept.
  • Collects towels and places in dirty bin.
  • Collects trash and takes out to dumpster.
  • Available 11am to 4pm or 4pm to 9pm.

Work Environment/Safety Hazards:
Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Must lift large and heavy bags of laundry up to 50 lbs. Works around high temperatures and loud noises made by the washing machines. Proper safety procedures, such as wearing gloves and/or masks, must be followed due to exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP). May experience exposure to water and vaporized chemicals and blood-borne spills.

Required:
  • 18+ in age.

Preferred:
  • Native American.
