Saturday & Sunday 10:00am-10:30pm; Senior/ Rising Senior Radiography program student preferred. This position is sign on bonus eligible. Based on eligibility.
Pay Range
$21.00 - $21.00
Performs a variety of patient care duties and other professional activities as needed to facilitate patient care and treatment. Performs under the supervision of a radiology technologist. Assists in monitoring the flow of patient activities in the department.
Essential Functions
  • Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
  • Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.
  • Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
  • Obtains medications, radiopharmaeceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse.
  • Assists physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound) to include procedures requiring the administration of contrast media.
  • Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams.
  • Assists patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals and other ancillary clinical support needs as required.
  • Assists with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Physical Requirements
Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation. Frequently may be required to stretch, bend twist, squat or kneel in the daily operation of the assigned clinical area. May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, being near moving equipment. Required to use radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation, MRI safety, and infection control as dictated by the procedural area.
Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field. Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of career in medical imaging; Medical clerical skills preferred. BLS required.
