Job description

Charlotte Radiology is seeking a fellowship-trained Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiologist to join our highly subspecialized Musculoskeletal Imaging section in Charlotte, NC. This partnership-track opportunity offers the chance to practice alongside one of the largest private practice MSK radiology teams in the Southeast while caring for a diverse patient population ranging from elite professional athletes to pediatric and orthopedic oncology patients.
Our twelve-radiologist MSK section provides comprehensive musculoskeletal imaging and image-guided procedures across a large regional health system. Physicians benefit from a collaborative environment with strong orthopedic partnerships, multidisciplinary conferences, academic teaching opportunities, and the resources of one of the nation's largest private radiology practices.
Musculoskeletal Section Highlights:
  • Join a highly subspecialized team of 12 fellowship-trained MSK radiologists.
  • Comprehensive musculoskeletal imaging across radiography, CT, MRI, and ultrasound for both adult and pediatric patients.
  • Perform a wide range of image-guided procedures, including fluoroscopic, CT-guided, and ultrasound-guided therapeutic injections, arthrography, and bone (including spine) and soft tissue biopsies.
  • Opportunity to expand procedural expertise with advanced interventions such as percutaneous thermal ablation, abdominal wall botulinum injections, percutaneous bone grafting, and innovative procedural techniques based on clinical needs.
  • Interpret imaging for professional athletes, including the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC, as well as collegiate, high school, recreational, and weekend athletes.
  • Large orthopedic oncology practice with three dedicated orthopedic oncologic surgeons and a weekly multidisciplinary sarcoma conference.
  • Serve Levine Children's Hospital, the region's largest free-standing pediatric hospital, interpreting pediatric MSK imaging and performing pediatric image-guided MSK procedures.
  • Opportunity to teach orthopedic surgery residents and Wake Forest University School of Medicine medical students.
  • Unique combination of tertiary referral medicine, academic collaboration, and private practice autonomy.

Position Highlights:
  • Partnership-track opportunity with a two- or three-year pathway based on experience.
  • Approximately 80% Musculoskeletal Imaging with the remaining rotations in General, Body, and Emergency Radiology.
  • Partner compensation exceeds the 90th percentile for private practice radiology.
  • Flexible scheduling with hybrid onsite and remote reading opportunities.
  • More than 10 weeks of vacation annually for partners.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, malpractice, 401(k), student loan repayment assistance, sign-on bonus, and generous paid parental/family leave.
  • Dedicated overnight Body, Neuro, and Pediatric Radiology coverage, allowing MSK radiologists to focus on daytime subspecialty practice.
  • MSK-only pager call.
  • Advanced IT infrastructure with single-vendor PACS, integrated chat and case-sharing capabilities, dedicated clerical support, and 24/7 IT assistance.
  • Strong physician collaboration with access to subspecialty expertise across one of the largest private radiology groups in the Southeast.

Position Requirements:
  • ABR certified or ABR eligible.
  • Fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology.
  • Expertise in musculoskeletal MRI, CT, ultrasound, radiography, and image-guided procedures.
  • Interest in collaborative multidisciplinary care, education, and innovation.
  • Highly motivated physician committed to high-quality patient care and teamwork.

Practice Highlights:
Charlotte Radiology is comprised of more than 100 board-certified radiologists and more than 40 advanced practice providers, serving as the region's imaging experts since 1967.
