Summary of Job Duties:This posting will be used to fill multiple positions.
Temporary Part-Time PRN (as needed) / Shifts vary
The In-House Agency RN Program offers PRN employment for 13-week intervals. Participants are required to work 36 hours/week for 13 weeks and will be paid a competitive hourly rate plus weekend differentials. To qualify, applicants must have a valid RN license issued by the State of Arkansas and 12 months experience in an acute care hospital. Experience in the past 12 months must include 6 months in a direct patient care role in an acute care hospital. Applicants cannot be currently employed by UAMS, and previous UAMS employees must have terminated more than 180 days prior.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
  • Valid RN License
  • Nursing Experience: minimum of 12 months of experience as an RN in an acute care hospital
  • Experience in the last 12 months may include up to 6 months in a management position, but must include at least 6 months in a direct patient care role in an acute care hospital
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong work ethics and accountability
  • Specialty areas, i.e.., Intensive Care, F4 Surgical Trauma are required to pass a pre-screening testingwith a minimum score of 80%
  • Chemotherapy certification may be required to work Oncology units
  • Work one major holiday and one additional holiday if applicable, in addition to every other weekend throughout the duration of the 13-week RN Internal Contract agreement period.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of RN experience

Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care as an RN. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions. The RN will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans.
