Job Title: Machinist
- This role is on-site in Loves Park, Illinois outside of Chicago. Employees will receive per diem during this contract.
Job Description
The machinist role involves setting up and operating TMU Swiss Lathe machines, working with tight tolerances, and conducting thorough quality inspections.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate TMU Swiss Lathe machines.
- Machine small, precision parts to tight tolerances.
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications.
- Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Make tool offsets and minor program edits as needed.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and ensure quality outputs.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of experience with Swiss Lathe.
- Strong understanding of precision machining and tight tolerances.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform basic math calculations.
- Experience with inspection tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, etc.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with TMU Swiss Lathe.
- Ability to perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools.

Shift
Monday to Thursday, 3:24 PM to 1:54 AM, with overtime as needed on Fridays.
- Mandatory training occurs during the first two weeks, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Loves Park, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
