WAVE is currently looking for a night shift Coordinator to join our team!
Shift: 9pm-5am
General Responsibilities
In addition to typical assigned position functions, a coordinator assumes elevated responsibility in that he or she must enforce the compliance of safety policies and procedures, direct operation activities to achieve performance targets, foster active communication between cross-functional departments, and accept accountability for housekeeping of the shift. Coordinator position is an extension of management, which requires clear and timely communication with leadership; verbal, email, phone, etc.
Safety:
  • Promote a safety culture aligned with 8-Step Safety Process, Think-Plan-Act and Risk Tolerance
  • Maintain housekeeping standards
  • Lead team in safety communication and corrective actions when necessary

Organizational Vitality:
  • Facilitate employee recognition
  • Encourage teamwork and optimism in assigned department

Operations:
  • Contribute to Gemba and other lean managing systems
  • Lead and direct projects assigned to department

Administrative:
  • Completion of shift paperwork and reporting
  • Manage reporting of actual and targeted metrics as assigned to department

Day-to-Day Expectations:
  • Monitor employee adherence to policies including, but not limited to, breaks, lunches, phone usage, and end of shift shutdown procedures.
  • Direct allocation of resources ie. changeovers, sending temps home when not needed, etc.
  • Enter accurate end-of-shift data and post production in timely manner.
  • Update plant leadership and other personnel on operating conditions and shift activities via email.
  • Assist in temp and new employee orientation.
  • Lead by example, manage conflict and coordinate teamwork, as appropriate.
  • Meet with Operations Manager prior to shift startup to discuss production schedule, line priorities, staffing, vacations and absences, incoming steel trucks, etc.

Qualifications:
  • Current WAVE employee and in good standing
  • Required; familiarity with WAVE operations
  • Required; demonstration of leadership skills
  • Desire to lead a team and begin leadership development
