About the Role

Essential HealthCare Solutions LLC is building a roster of Florida-certified Nursing Assistants to provide hands-on support care at employee shelters during hurricane and severe-weather events in Southwest Florida. Working under the supervision of a licensed nurse, our CNAs help care for the crews and emergency personnel working to keep the power on — supporting comfort, basic needs, and a safe, clean shelter environment. This is on-call, activation-based work ideal for CNAs who want meaningful disaster-response experience and flexible, well-compensated deployments. Assignments typically run 24 hours to 14 consecutive days.

What You'll Do

  • Provide basic support care to shelter occupants under the supervision of a licensed nurse
  • Measure and record vital signs as directed by the nurse
  • Assist occupants with comfort, hydration, mobility, and daily needs
  • Observe occupants and promptly report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse
  • Support infection-prevention tasks — hygiene, PPE, and surface cleaning/disinfection
  • Help set up, organize, and maintain the shelter medical station and supply inventory
  • Assist the nursing team during medical incidents within the CNA scope of practice
  • Maintain basic logs and records as directed
  • Help keep the medical and shelter areas safe, clean, and orderly

    What You'll Bring

  • Active, unencumbered Florida CNA certificationrequired
  • Current BLS certification — required
  • Ability to pass a background screening
  • Availability to deploy on short notice and work extended 12-hour shifts in shelter/field conditions
  • Dependable team player comfortable taking direction from licensed nurses in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred: hospital, long-term care, shelter, or disaster-response experience; ICS/FEMA training

    Schedule & Conditions

This is activation-based work. Deployments are triggered by storm events (up to 72 hours before landfall, through impact, and into recovery). You will work 12-hour shifts — including nights, weekends, and holidays — for up to 14 consecutive days per deployment, in shelter and temporary-facility settings. Meals and lodging are provided during deployment, and PPE is supplied.

    Why Join Essential HealthCare Solutions

  • Competitive activation and deployment pay
  • Meals and lodging covered during deployment
  • Flexible, on-call commitment — deploy when storms activate
  • Meaningful work supporting Southwest Florida's storm-response operations
