Job description

Are you passionate about creating content that helps people feel connected, informed, and inspired?

Shepherd Church is looking for a Temporary Social Media Content Creator & Coordinator. This position is responsible for owning the day-to-day execution of social media content and engagement, helping Shepherd Church maintain a strong, consistent, and community-focused presence online.

You’ll create and publish content for social media platforms, manage posting schedules, monitor engagement, and help support promotional efforts for church-wide initiatives, events, and special moment. This role requires someone who is creative, organized, and proactive.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Is creative, self-motivated, and highly organized.
  • Takes ownership of responsibilities and follows through with consistency.
  • Communicates clearly and works well with others.
  • Understands social media best practices for content, timing, and engagement.
  • Can balance creativity with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

  • Experience creating and publishing content for social media platforms, especially Instagram and Facebook.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage content calendars, scheduling, and recurring weekly tasks.
  • Experience with project management platforms such as Asana.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and evenings for church events, as needed.

Position Details

Temporary position from September 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027

Non-exempt, part-time position

In-person role

Schedule varies based on events but standard schedule:

Tue-Thur: 8a-4:30p

Sat: 7-8p

Sun: 12-1p
