Job description

TEKsystems is seeking a ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Consultant to support a government entity in Hawaii with the implementation of its newly acquired ServiceNow SPM platform. The organization has purchased the SPM module but has not yet configured or deployed it. This consultant will serve as both a functional advisor and technical expert, helping stakeholders understand industry best practices, recommend optimal workflows and governance processes, and configure the platform to support project, portfolio, demand, and resource management needs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing ServiceNow SPM, working directly with business stakeholders, and performing ServiceNow administration and configuration activities. This individual should be comfortable leading discussions with leadership teams, making recommendations based on prior implementations, and executing the technical configuration necessary for a successful deployment. Responsibilities
  • Assess the organization's current ServiceNow environment and develop recommendations for SPM implementation.
  • Lead discovery sessions and workshops with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business objectives.
  • Advise stakeholders on how ServiceNow SPM is commonly configured and utilized in other organizations.
  • Recommend best-practice governance models, intake processes, project lifecycles, portfolio structures, and workflow designs.
  • Configure and administer the ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management platform.
  • Implement and configure Demand Management, Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Resource Management, Portfolio Planning, and related SPM capabilities.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions.
  • Develop and document workflows, business processes, system configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Create dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visibility tools for project teams and leadership.
  • Partner with stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and configuration decisions.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide ongoing platform administration and support.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and train administrators, managers, and business users on SPM functionality and best practices.
  • Serve as the primary functional and technical subject matter expert throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • Strong experience with ServiceNow administration and platform configuration.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and configuring ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM).
  • Experience with SPM modules including Demand Management, Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Resource Management, and Portfolio Planning.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into effective ServiceNow solutions.
  • Experience advising stakeholders on governance models, workflow design, and industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow workflows, forms, dashboards, reporting, and security roles.
  • Experience leading workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Ability to provide recommendations based on previous ServiceNow SPM implementations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and consulting skills.
  • Experience working with both business and technical teams to define and implement solutions.
  • Experience supporting government, public sector, or large enterprise organizations preferred.
  • ServiceNow certifications related to SPM, System Administration, or Implementation are a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
