The Recruitment Specialist is a 30-hour per week, Monday through Friday position expected to last approximately six months. This role assists in high-volume recruiting efforts to attract and hire compassionate, qualified professionals who support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include sourcing candidates, building talent pipelines, attending job fairs, screening applicants, coordinating hiring activities, and partnering with managers to meet staffing needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to supporting a nonprofit mission that empowers individuals with disabilities to live meaningful, inclusive lives, on their terms.

This role is responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies, building strong relationships with hiring managers and community partners, and ensuring a positive candidate experience from sourcing through onboarding.

Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition & Recruitment
  • Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates and maintain staffing levels.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and create targeted recruitment plans.
  • Source candidates through a variety of channels, including job boards, social media, community organizations, schools, colleges, career centers, and networking events.
  • Screen resumes and applications, conduct initial candidate interviews, and recommend qualified candidates for consideration.
  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs, career fairs, recruitment events, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Plan and organize internal recruitment events and hiring campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to promote employment opportunities and recruitment events.
Candidate Selection & Onboarding
  • Conduct reference checks and coordinate background screening requirements, including applicable criminal history, fingerprinting, driving record, and drug screening processes.
  • Prepare and process new hire paperwork and onboarding documentation.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company benefit programs and available resources.
HR Administration & Reporting
  • Track recruiting activity and maintain accurate records within HR systems.
  • Compile, analyze, and present recruitment metrics and hiring statistics.
  • Support company-wide HR programs, including job fairs, benefits fairs, and employee engagement initiatives.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of two (2) years of professional recruiting experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience working with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, payroll systems, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred
  • Experience recruiting for healthcare, human services, nonprofit, or community-based organizations.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
