Job Title: Quality Assurance
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Cary, NC
Pay: $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Rotating Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for developing employee knowledge and performance within the Quality Assurance (QA) function through training, coaching, and skills assessments. This role identifies training needs, delivers effective learning programs, evaluates employee progress, and supports onboarding efforts to ensure team members are equipped to meet quality and operational standards. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator, organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about employee development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct talent and skills assessments to identify training needs and competency gaps within the QA department.
  • Develop and facilitate training using a variety of instructional methods, including one-on-one coaching, workshops, job shadowing, and mentoring.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust facilitation methods to improve learning outcomes.
  • Ensure all QA employees are properly trained and demonstrate competency in assigned job responsibilities.
  • Conduct periodic audits to assess employee knowledge, skill development, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Document audit findings and communicate performance gaps or training needs promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of temporary QA employees provided through staffing agencies.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to improve training programs, instructional materials, and facilitation methods.
  • Maintain accurate training and audit documentation as required.
  • Observe safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Follow all company policies, security protocols, standard operating procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and ISO requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, training, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply work instructions, procedures, and training materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Effective organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email, intranet systems, and Manufacturing Information Systems (MIS).
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 60 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience delivering employee training, coaching, or mentoring in a manufacturing or quality environment.
  • Experience conducting quality audits or performance assessments.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO standards.
  • Experience onboarding and training new employees.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
