Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Job Description
Manage the procurement of indirect materials and services, including MRO, office supplies, equipment, professional services, and other operational needs. Support direct material purchasing activities as needed to maintain production and customer commitments.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage purchase orders, monitor open orders, and expedite deliveries when necessary.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and service expectations are met.
- Solicit quotes, compare vendor proposals, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
- Partner with internal departments including Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Manufacturing to understand purchasing requirements.
- Resolve supplier, invoice, and delivery discrepancies in collaboration with vendors and Accounts Payable.
- Monitor inventory levels and purchasing trends to identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and purchasing procedures.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data within the ERP system and generate reporting as needed.
Essential Skills
- 1-3 years of purchasing experience, ideally in a components-based manufacturing industry.
- Experience with indirect procurement activities.
- Knowledge of purchase orders, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
- Procurement analysis and source selection skills.
- Strong soft skills including willingness to learn, understanding priorities, and reading conversations.

This is a Contract position based out of La Crosse, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
