Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a First Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to support the MQ-25 team in Mascoutah, IL.


As a First Line Leader for MQ-25, you will lead, develop, and support a high-performing team in a dynamic, mission-focused environment. This role is responsible for driving execution, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability, and supporting continuous improvement to meet business and customer commitments.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads employees performing work across multiple manufacturing disciplines

  • Develops and executes business plans, policies, and procedures while establishing organizational and technical strategies to achieve operational objectives

  • Secures resources, provides technical oversight of suppliers, and leads process improvement initiatives to enhance performance and efficiency

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes to ensure compliance and execution excellence

  • Champions a zero-injury mindset and first-time quality culture through accountability, engagement, and disciplined execution

  • Leads, inspires, develops, and motivates employees to drive performance, engagement, and continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."

  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment

  • 3+ yearsโ€™ experience working with or supporting military aircraft

  • Ability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher, equivalent work or military experience

  • Previous knowledge / experience with LEAN and 5S activities

  • Experience with military aircraft maintenance

  • Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
