Description


PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The laborer performs general labor tasks assigned by supervisor. This is a temporary position.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:ย 

Performs manual labor as assigned by supervisor.

Maintains the work site clean and orderly.

Removes debris and snow from sidewalks and stairs depending on season working.

Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Perform other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of staff and customers.

Effective oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate to others.

Active listening skills; attentiveness when listening to others to understand, ask appropriate questions, etc.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. ย 

Ability to safely and efficiently operate a motor vehicle and other equipment.ย 


QUALIFICATIONS:ย 

High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree)

Must be able to lift to up 50 lbs. safely.ย 

Valid state Driver's License and be qualified to operate a vehicle.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position performs indoor and outdoor work.ย
