Job description

Job Title: Setup/Process Technician

Job Description

Set-Up Technicians (Injection Mold) are integral to the startup, operation, and maintenance of molding and assembly equipment. These roles are provided a pathway to long-term employment. Technicians are responsible for ensuring the quality and specifications of molded and assembled components are met.

Schedule: 2-2-3 shift schedule 6am-6pm, or 6pm-6am

Pay: $28.00 - 40.00/hr

Responsibilities

  • Support and understand the responsibilities of operator level 1 and 2.
  • Perform visual inspection of products according to production specifications to identify defects.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and adhere to 55 Standards daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Load validated master cycle parameters into the Injection Molding machine at startup.
  • Operate and align automated and robotic systems.
  • Ensure machines run to standard and product quality meets specifications at each startup.
  • Troubleshoot small to mid-size process issues and escalate as needed.
  • Respond to alarms, and perform machine start and stop procedures after initial startup.
  • Retrieve documentation from TMS to support quality-related decisions.
  • Perform line clearances as necessary.
  • Clean injection molds per work instructions.
  • Pull and set molds, and perform color changes and material lots as needed.
  • Complete traceability documentation and assembly start-up batches/shots for product changes.
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Level 1 for Assembly, Injection Molding, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Complete cycle checklist and perform LOTO (lock out/tag out) on unsafe equipment.
  • Maintain and participate in Lean initiatives and projects.
  • Provide suggestions and actively participate in Process Improvements to eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Support and adhere to company policies, including ISO Standards and Health and Safety protocols.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with Injection Molding.
  • Set-up experience (varying levels acceptable).
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
