Job Summary

Drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties. May also operate pipe or muffler Drexel and/or Turret Truck.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the essential functions, physical demands, or work environment. Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area. Pulls finished goods for internal/external shipments. Inventories materials on work floor, and supplies workers with materials as needed. Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules. Accurately reports scrapped material or product. Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device. Ensures that vehicle is in good operating condition, completes daily checks, notifies supervisor of deficiencies. Completes inventory transactions on vehicle computer terminal. Completes annual review of OSHA required safety training as assigned by supervisor. Reports any safety malfunctions, near hits, and or injuries to supervisor immediately. Must wear Proper PPE while performing job function. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Insure when loading trailers that trailers are secured to dock leveler properly. Perform Safety inspection of Trailers prior to loading. Must perform proper SAP transactions accurately while storing, moving, or loading product or customer orders. Must be able to load and unload trailers safely, securely, and accurately, to insure shipments will not be damaged. Use load bars and internal trailer strapping. Be able to loose & hand loading product. Assist in other areas as needed.

Education/ Experience/ Skills

Must have experience with SAP systems, EWM is a plus. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Knowledge of IMS systems or standard inventory control systems. Previous forklift experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to work cooperatively with supervision and co-workers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to learn computer functions.

REASONING ABILITY

Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Forklift Certification (with regular re-certification required). Must have valid driver's license.

Physical Demand & Work Environment

Often required to sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel. Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift up to 50 lbs. Vision ability required include close vision.
