SUMMARY
SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a Clinic Coordinator. The Clinic Coordinator works collaboratively with professional staff to provide coordination of care to Brockport students. Reporting to the Associate Director of Hazen Health Center, this position will manage and supervise front desk staff and engage in maintaining and optimizing electronic medical record utilization. This is a part-time, temporary position that will extend from June through January.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions:
  • Evaluates the schedule and clinic flow to ensure efficient operations and timely patient care.
  • Listens to patient needs and communicates them to providers and other professional staff as appropriate.
  • Coordinates patient care in collaboration with providers and other licensed staff, including follow-up on referrals, lab orders, and results.
  • Provides family and campus partner communication as needed.
  • Hires, trains, and manages Hazen Office Assistants (Office Assistant 1 and Office Assistant 2) and provides oversight of phone queue.
  • Participates in overall office operations by providing backup to the front desk staff and performs administrative tasks as needed.
  • Functions as expert user and trainer of electronic medical records systems.
  • Assists with immunization entry and reporting, particularly during peak months (June-August and December-January).
  • Manages the clinic inventory including evaluating the needs and costs of equipment/supplies and follows all applicable purchasing guidelines.
  • Ensures an excellent learning environment for Brockport nursing students and other trainees.
  • Shares in weekend coverage as needed, including, but not limited to, Accepted Students events and Move-in Weekend activities.
  • Works collaboratively with Health, Counseling, Prevention Services, Residential Life staff, and other campus partners to support student health and wellbeing.
  • Engages in campus community service as requested.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in nursing by the time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized college or university
  • Valid New York State license as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to make independent nursing judgments within scope of practice
  • Collaborative, flexible team player with effective communication skills
  • Maintains an open approach to support inclusive and respectful patient care

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • Experience in ambulatory setting, emergency room or home care setting
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Work Schedule:
20 hours/week: Monday-Friday, 8 am-12 pm, with the potential for additional hours.
