Job description

Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to providing and managing safe, affordable housing opportunities for individuals and families throughout Rhode Island. As the organization continues to grow its portfolio and impact, it is seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of an affordable housing community and ensure compliance with LIHTC, Section 8, and other affordable housing programs.


Responsibilities of the Property Manager

  • Manage daily property operations, leasing, occupancy, and resident relations
  • Ensure compliance with LIHTC, Section 8, HUD, Fair Housing, and program requirements
  • Complete certifications, recertifications, file reviews, and audit preparation
  • Monitor rent collections, delinquencies, budgets, invoices, and property performance
  • Coordinate maintenance, inspections, vendors, and housing agency requirements
  • Supervise on-site staff and support resident communication and issue resolution

Requirements of the Property Manager

  • 3+ years of property management experience
  • Affordable housing experience required
  • Knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, HUD, and Fair Housing regulations
  • Experience with certifications, recertifications, and compliance files
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency; Yardi/RealPage/MRI preferred
  • Affordable housing certification preferred, such as COS, TCS, or HCCP
