Job description

Our client is the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) and they are seeking a Computer Support Specialist. This is a temporary position (W2 Only) in New York, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual. The contract is expected to last 2 years. This position in IN-OFFICE, so you must commute to Lower Manhattan – near Battery Park.

Position Details – Computer Support Specialist

Location: NYC/Lower Manhattan – near Battery Park
Hours: 9:00am–5:00pm (Mon–Fri); some OT and Holidays may be required.
Duration: 2-Year Contract (W-2 Only)
Pay Range: $26-30/hr Depending on experience

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Computer Support Specialist. This role is responsible for providing technical assistance, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring a smooth technology experience for end-users. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Information Technology and Customer Service
  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following (or a closely related field):
    • Computer Science
    • Information Systems
    • Management Information Systems
    • Information Technology
    • Cybersecurity
  • Proof of eligibility to work in New York State
  • Provide Resume AND Cover Letter

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support to users via phone, email, chat, and in-person interactions
  • Monitor, manage, and resolve tickets using the JIRA ticketing system
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral devices
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Document technical issues, resolutions, and create user guides or knowledge base articles
  • Support IT operations and perform other duties as assigned
