Job description

The Student Assistant's primary job functions will be located in the ITS Tech Zone and Client Support Office. The Student Assistant is the first point of contact in technical support for ITS Computer Lab users and walk-ins (Faculty/Staff/Students). Student Assistants work to troubleshoot and resolve issues for end-users while providing excellent customer service/communication as well as performing office/administrative functions to maintain all computer lab operations and equipment.

Position Duties

  • Assists users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and WiFi connectivity problems on PCs, Macs, and Mobile Devices. Answering phones, logging help desk tickets, replacing printer toner cartridges and printer paper, and assisting users with printing services and account activation.
  • Conducting thorough checks of all ITS Lab PCs and Macs for full functionality as well as diagnosing and repairing hardware/software issues.
  • Image and prep new desktops and laptops to be deployed to ITS Labs and Faculty/Staff
  • Assist Faculty/Staff/Students with the use of Pace systems such as MyPace Portal, Email, UKG ready and other Pace licensed software (MS Office, SPSS, etc.)
  • Provides professional and courteous customer service to all end-users (greeting visitors, taking detailed messages, following up with users)
  • Maintaining computer lab and classroom facilities' cleanliness and organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned
