Job Title: Lab Assistant I

Job Description

A Lab Assistant will be working in a high-volume production-based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Scan and/or enter data of specimen and patient information.
  • Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot any specimen-related issues.
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable with handling biological specimens.
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens.
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills.
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous medical/lab or production experience is preferred.

Work Environment

The role offers an opportunity to work at one of the largest diagnostic companies in the world, providing tons of growth opportunities. The work environment includes a professional lab setting with some chemical exposure, requiring necessary training in the Histology department. The Lab Assistant will work both independently and as part of a team, with a flexible schedule that includes potential overtime. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times. Mon - Fri 3:00am -11:30am - Professional lab with some chemical exposure training necessary - PPE will be provided - this role is in the Histology dept - Will be working with a team and alone.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakewood, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.81 - $18.81/hr.
