Job description

Are you the go-to person when a Swiss lathe needs to deliver a flawless part?

If you can read a complex print, debug a program under pressure, and still hit the delivery window, this role is for you. You’ll own setups, operation, inspection, and troubleshooting for Swiss-style turning that feeds critical medical devices.

We are willing to train CNC Lathe Operators!

Can you...
  • Turn a first-article into a stable production run by nailing offsets, tools, and changeovers?
  • Chase micron-level accuracy using calipers, micrometers, height stands, and comparators?
  • Collaborate with programmers, update setup docs through change control, and keep ERP records pristine?
  • Coach teammates so every machine in the cell hits utilization and production targets?
What you’ll tackle
  • Setups and changeovers on CNC Swiss lathes; program debugging; tool changes and machine adjustments.
  • Operation and light maintenance of Swiss machines, plus finishing equipment and fixtures; precise burr removal.
  • Interpretation of blueprints, inspection check-sheets, and work instructions.
  • Electronic quality documentation; ERP work-order management and machine monitoring.
  • Feedback to CNC programmers; keep setup documentation current under formal change control.
  • Training and guidance for peers; continuous improvement to lift quality and delivery.
  • Execute the plan to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
What you bring on day one
  • High School Diploma/equivalent (advanced technical training a plus).
  • At least 5 years running Swiss-style lathes in manufacturing.
  • Exposure to Citizen, Tsugami, or comparable Swiss platforms (preferred).
  • Comprehensive understanding of machinery, tooling, measuring, and gauging; solid production-process knowledge.
  • Expert-level setups; fluent in reading prints, routers, and setup files.
  • Awareness of cosmetic and functional part requirements.
  • Basic CNC programming knowledge.
  • Confident communicator across production floors, technical staff, and management.
  • Working familiarity with lean principles.
  • Dependable execution of Supervisor direction.
  • Commitment to company values and professional behavior.
  • Understanding of Avalign’s Quality System and Measurement Instruction Sheet layout/purpose, plus Avalign’s Compliance Policies.
Your toolkit
  • GD&T
  • CNC Tooling
  • G-Code
  • M-Code
  • CNC Machine Setup & Changeover
  • Advanced Inspection & Gauge Measurement
  • Machine Setups for Production Runs
Machines you’ll command
  • CNC Lathe (2–4 axis)
  • CNC Swiss Lathe
  • CNC Lathe (5+ axis)
