Job Summary


Bishop DuBourg High School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and motivational Baseball Coach to lead studentathletes in a program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and character formation. The ideal candidate will guide players both on and off the field, foster a positive team culture, and support the mission and values of a Catholic educational community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the baseball program, including practices, games, training sessions, and player development.
  • Teach baseball fundamentals, game strategy, and advanced techniques appropriate for high school athletes.
  • Create a team environment built on respect, accountability, sportsmanship, and strong work ethic.
  • Model and promote positive leadership, ethical behavior, and academic responsibility.
  • Develop practice plans, manage game decisions, and evaluate player progress throughout the season.
  • Supervise studentathletes during practices, competitions, travel, and team functions.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with players, families, athletic department staff, and school leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to MSHSAA regulations, school policies, and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with the Athletic Director regarding scheduling, field use, equipment needs, and program budgets.
  • Encourage studentathletes to pursue growth in athletic skill, academic success, and personal character.
  • Recruit and mentor assistant coaches, ensuring alignment with program goals and values.

Qualifications

  • Previous baseball coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, player development, and game strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor young athletes.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education, with a willingness to model Christian character.
  • Completion of all required background checks, certifications, and MSHSAA coaching requirements.
