Job description

Position Overview

The Safety & Training Manager is responsible for ensuring workplace safety and compliance at the USA Parkway WDC while leading the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of employee training programs. This position promotes a strong culture of safety, compliance, and professional development to drive operational excellence across the WDC.

The role requires close collaboration with WDC leadership and Tellworks network leadership to align safety, compliance, and training initiatives with company-wide standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive health, safety, and compliance programs for the WDC.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, perform root cause analyses (A3, 5-Why, and corrective action planning), and implement prevention measures.
  • Maintain and monitor SOC and PPE compliance across WDC operations.
  • Prepare and maintain safety documentation, reporting safety metrics, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and lead a WDC Safety Committee, promoting proactive safety engagement among team members.
  • Collaborate with WDC and Tellworks network leadership to share best practices, align compliance strategies, and support cross-location safety objectives.

Training Program Development

  • Partner with WDC leadership to identify training requirements and create standardized training materials for operations, safety, and compliance programs.
  • Lead new employee onboarding and orientation, ensuring all associates are trained on company policies, procedures, and safety expectations.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs (in-person and digital) tailored to WDC roles and departments.
  • Implement objective measures to evaluate training effectiveness and adjust programs based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Stay current with evolving training methodologies, e-learning tools, and safety regulations to ensure programs remain effective and compliant.
  • Work collaboratively with Tellworks network leadership to ensure consistency and scalability of training programs across locations.

Culture & Continuous Improvement

  • Foster a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous learning throughout the WDC.
  • Collaborate with operations, HR, WDC leadership, and Tellworks network leadership to integrate safety and training objectives into performance goals.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements based on data analysis and performance trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Engineering, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience (5+ years preferred) managing safety and training programs within warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing training programs and fostering a positive safety culture.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with learning management systems and e-learning tools preferred.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Working Conditions

  • Onsite presence required, 5 days per week, at the USA Parkway WDC.
  • May require limited travel (<10%) for meetings or training at nearby locations.
  • Warehouse-based environment with exposure to normal occupational hazards; adherence to safety protocols required.
  • Occasional extended or irregular hours to support operational or training priorities.
