Job Requirements

Job Title: Referral Teleservices Tech

Location: Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (Onsite)

Working Hours: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Position Summary

Join one of South Carolina’s largest and most respected healthcare systems, Spartanburg Regional, as a Referral Teleservices Tech. This essential role plays a key part in ensuring smooth communication and support within our organization. As a Referral Teleservices Tech, you will manage a multi-line phone system, verify information in the EMR, and direct callers to the appropriate departments or personnel. This dynamic position also includes maintaining on-call schedules for practices, handling after-hours answering services, monitoring alarms, and providing lite help desk support, including documentation in the ticketing system.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a receptionist operating a multi-line switchboard phone system.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in speaking, understanding, and writing in English.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Efficiently handle high volumes of inbound calls while maintaining swift response rates in line with service standards.
  • Continuously update and manage staff availability lists to ensure proper call routing.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including personal computers, software applications, fax machines, phones, and printers.
  • Monitor hospital alarms and respond to emergency codes as needed.
  • Understand and respond effectively to both verbal and written instructions, ensuring clear communication with all parties.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to behavior, attendance, punctuality, and professional appearance.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and the public.
  • Enter data into the health information management system and perform other routine clerical duties as assigned.
  • Pursue personal and professional development opportunities to enhance job performance.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
