Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring MI licensure, Epic experience, and at least 1 year of acute care experience.
Job Details
• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting,
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:30,
• Required to work every other weekend,
• No on-call or floating requirements,
• Unit manages Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin drips,
• Unit initiates pressor support for BP management during transport to higher levels of care,
• Patient ratio of 1:5,
• Uses Epic charting system,
Job Requirements
• Active MI RN license required and in hand by start date (compact license not accepted),
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required,
• Acute care experience required,
• Med Surg and Telemetry experience required,
• Epic charting experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred,
• Proof of high school level education required,
Additional Information
• Must pass a telemetry competency test prior to starting on the unit,
• Provide cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias,
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care,
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line management,
• Familiarity with wound care, wound vac management, and isolation precautions/PPE,
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel positions,
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position,
• RTO must be submitted at the time of profile submission, with a 5-day maximum RTO policy per assignment,
• Returning staff members must wait 12 months before reapplying if previously employed at the facility,
• Epic training is completed during orientation
