Job Title: Telematics Validation Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a Telematics Validation Engineer to validate and verify telematics systems for connected vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience testing telematics control units (TCUs), vehicle communication protocols, connectivity features, and end-to-end telematics functionalities. The role involves developing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain validation test plans and test cases for telematics systems.
  • Validate TCU features including OTA updates, eCall, bCall, remote vehicle functions, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular connectivity.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing.
  • Analyze CAN/LIN/Ethernet communication using industry-standard tools.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases and document test results.
  • Log, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.
  • Work closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Support HIL/SIL testing and vehicle-level validation activities.

Required Skills

  • Experience in automotive telematics validation or connected vehicle testing.
  • Strong understanding of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS, and Diagnostics.
  • Hands-on experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, or Vehicle Spy.
  • Knowledge of TCU, OTA updates, GPS, LTE/5G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi technologies.
  • Experience with Python or CAPL scripting for test automation.
  • Familiarity with HIL testing and automotive communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR and Agile development methodologies is a plus.
