Job description

Founded in 1956, Dignity Health - Bakersfield Memorial Hospital is a 385-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Bakersfield, California. Serving nearly 100,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including heart care, maternity care, and orthopedics. Additionally, Memorial Hospital has been recognized as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. It is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center, and its Lauren Small Children’s Center is the first comprehensive pediatric program in Kern County.

One Community. One Mission. One California

As our Director Nursing Cardiac Services for Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating the overall performance of the Cardiovascular Service Line.

Every day, you will provide operational oversight of clinical activities as it relates to program development and management, and identify opportunities for growth within service delivery. This position acts as liaison and communications link between medical staff,
nursing personnel, hospital employees and outside vendors. You will also oversee internal telemedicine processes and telehealth outreach efforts pertinent to the service line. This position is responsible for maintaining quality standards for the heart programs, maintaining current and accurate policies, procedures and practices pursuant to program accreditation and certification requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be an experienced director, with a track record of success in mid to large sized hospitals overseeing cardiac services. You must be competent and confident, with excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups. Every interaction is an opportunity to share your knowledge with others and improve their understanding of a patient’s needs.

If you are committed to social justice, health equity, and desire to work with a health system delivering care in new, innovative ways, you belong with us.
