Telehealth Lpc Associate information

What is a Telehealth LPC Associate?

A Telehealth LPC Associate is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who provides mental health counseling services to clients remotely, using secure video or phone platforms. These professionals are typically in the early stages of their counseling careers, practicing under the supervision of a fully licensed counselor. Telehealth LPC Associates help clients with a range of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, and must adhere to state regulations regarding telehealth and supervision. Their work makes mental health support more accessible, especially for people in remote or underserved areas.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Telehealth LPC Associate?

To thrive as a Telehealth LPC Associate, you need a master's degree in counseling or a related field, state licensure as an LPC Associate, and a solid grounding in therapeutic techniques. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and secure communication tools is essential for delivering remote care. Excellent listening skills, empathy, and the ability to build rapport virtually are vital soft skills in this role. These capabilities ensure effective and ethical counseling, client engagement, and compliance with privacy standards in a remote setting.

What are some common challenges Telehealth LPC Associates face when providing remote counseling, and how can they be addressed?

Telehealth LPC Associates often encounter challenges such as building rapport with clients through virtual platforms, managing technical issues, and ensuring client privacy. To overcome these obstacles, it's important to utilize secure, reliable telehealth software, set clear communication guidelines, and create a private, distraction-free workspace. Regular training on telehealth best practices and staying up-to-date with state regulations can also help maintain high-quality care and client trust.

What is the difference between Telehealth Lpc Associate vs Licensed Professional Counselor?

AspectTelehealth Lpc AssociateLicensed Professional Counselor
CredentialsRequires state-specific licensure as an LPC Associate, supervised practiceFully licensed with independent practice rights
Work EnvironmentTelehealth platforms, remote counseling settingsIn-person or telehealth, private practices, clinics
Employer & Industry UsageBehavioral health agencies, telehealth companiesHospitals, private practices, community health centers

The main difference is that a Telehealth LPC Associate is in supervised training and has limited practice rights, while a Licensed Professional Counselor has full licensure and can practice independently. Both roles often work in telehealth settings, but only the licensed counselor can provide unrestricted counseling services.

When you join Mindfully Texas, you work with a practice that is invested in your mental, physical, and financial well-being. Our clinicians experience greater professional fulfillment, improved work-life balance, and a supportive environment that encourages clinical autonomy and growth.

We are currently seeking part-time to full-time, LPC-Associates to join our growing outpatient practice with five locations across Austin, TX.

  • Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and compliance with HIPAA and Texas regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Commit to a caseload of 25+ client sessions per week.
  • Be able to work one evening or weekend per week.
  • Collaborate with fellow clinicians and staff as needed.

  • Flexible scheduling within business needs.
  • Outpatient practice with hybrid telehealth and in-person sessions.
  • Client-matching scheduling technology that aligns caseloads with your expertise and interests.
  • Full administrative, billing, and scheduling support.
  • EHR and practice resources provided.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
