Job Description

Your Role in the Company

At Teledyne Controls, you help ensure the reliability and longterm availability of the electronic components that power our aircraft data management and avionics solutions. Teledyne Controls, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies, has been delivering innovative onboard avionics, wireless connectivity, and aircraft data solutions since 1964-helping commercial and military operators improve safety, compliance, and operational efficiency worldwide.


In this role, you work at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing, applying your electrical engineering knowledge to support product integrity across the full lifecycle-from design through sustainment.

What you'll do

  • Partner with electrical and mechanical engineers to select components that meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements
  • Analyze Bills of Materials to verify part accuracy, lifecycle status, and sourcing strategy
  • Review schematics and design documentation to understand component function within circuit designs
  • Perform component and Bill of Materials reviews to identify obsolete, nonpreferred, or highrisk parts and recommend qualified alternates
  • Maintain component records and approved alternates within internal databases
  • Track manufacturer change notices and endoflife risks and support mitigation planning
  • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to prevent production or sustainment disruptions
  • Support component testing, evaluation, and technical impact assessments for substitutions
  • Assist with export control and tariff classifications for electronic components
  • Contribute to process improvements, including automation, data analytics, and AIenabled tools

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 1-3 years of hands-on work experience in component engineering, electrical hardware engineering or electronic product development. engineering experience
  • Knowledge of electronic components, electrical design fundamentals, and circuit behavior - required
  • Ability to interpret schematics and Bills of Materials - required
  • Experience with component lifecycle management or product development - preferred
  • Familiarity with obsolescence management and alternate sourcing - preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Person (includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees)

Salary Range:

$58,700.00-$78,300.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
