Job Summary:

The Field Service/Support Engineer will service, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance (including installation and training) on Teledyne FLIR Detection instruments in house or at customer sites all over the world.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation of Teledyne FLIR hardware and software in the field.
  • Provide training on the use of product hardware and software both at Teledyne FLIR and in the field
  • Troubleshoot and repair Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) and Bio instruments both at Teledyne FLIR and in the field.
  • Be knowledgeable and proficient on all Teledyne FLIR Detection - Mass Spectrometry and Bio products and services including handhelds (explosives and radiation)
  • Manage and resolve in a professional, pleasant and responsive manner incoming product support.
  • Document appropriate questions, techniques and solutions in the product knowledge base (JIRA program or formal documentation).
  • Participate in ongoing internal training programs.

Job Qualifications:

  • AS/ASEET and 2 years of directly relevant work experience, or BS/MS inChemistry/Engineering/ElectronicEngineering
  • Strong customer service orientation/skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with team members and customers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able and willing to travel domestic 25%+ to customer sites.
  • Able and willing to travel international 20% + to customer sites
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Proven experience required in the assembly and repair of systems a plus
  • Prior military experience a plus.

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
